Cozumel (Swallow Place) is an island off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The island, which is flat and has dense vegetation, is especially known for its good diving opportunities. Since 2009, Cozumel has hosted the annual Ironman Mexico race in November. Cozumel is home to the Nelson coati.
The route starts in San Miguel de Cozumel and follows the coastal road along the entire southern half of the island before we turn off about halfway up the east coast and head across back to the capital.
