Les Deux-Alpes is not a mountain pass, but a side road to the ski village of the same name. The 11 km long road runs through deep mixed forest upwards, with 10 numbered bends to defeat. The slope values in the first kilometers are with 8 - 9% relatively high, but going slightly down to human 5 - 6% from the middle of the track (which stretch out in wide bends). With increasing height the mixed forest also thins out and marvellous alpine panoramas become visible. Jan Ullrich has lost in 1998 the tour at this increase when he has lost in miserable weather 9 minutes on Marco Pantani.
