There is not much to say about the mountain road to Alpe d'Huez. To famous are the 21 bends up at just 13 km to Alpe d'Huez from so many Tour de France stages. The slope is behind Le Bourg d'Oisans almost always at 10%, only in the radii bends it is a little fewer. Both the signs with the turn numbers, as well as the names of famous drivers on the road guides our way through La Garde, Le Ribaut-d'Huez, Huez Village and Huez en Oisans up to the Alpe.

Sa Calobra is perhaps the most feared climb on Mallorca and a must do for many cyclists. Sa Calobra is 10km of tarmac draped on the side of a mountain. It has got as many as 26 harpin turns. One of the harpins actually does a 270 turn and heads back over itself; a so called spiral bridge. The road accesses the fishing village of the same name and is at the foot of the climb.
