The Middle Rhine is the 130 kilometer-long river section of the Rhine between the mouth of the Nahe near Bingen and that of the Sieg opposite Bonn. The river valley is bounded by Hunsrück and Eifel in the west, from Taunus, Westerwald and Siebengebirge in the east, from the Oberrheinebene in the south as well as from the Cologne bay and the Niederrhein in the north.
This RLV is the first of three parts of the Rhine cycle path along the Middle Rhine. The tour starts with a short 'prologue' before Mainz and then continues with the actual route behind Mainz. Partly behind the rhine dam, you will pass Budenheim, Ingelheim and Gaulsheim to Bingen and from there to the end point of this video in Bacharach.
The second part of the Mittelrhein cycle route then goes to the German corner in Koblenz, the third to Bonn.
