Monchique is a small town in the Serra de Monchique on the northern edge of the Algarve in Portugal in the district of Faro. Located in a valley and on the slope of Mount Fóia, the city is best known for the nearby six baths "Caldas de Monchique" and the 902 m high panoramic mountain Fóia. The surrounding Serra de Monchique mountain range has springs that fill most of the Algarve's reservoirs.1)
Our tour starts in Silves and takes us through Caldas to the highest point of the Serra de Monchique. We also pass the vantage point for Fóia. On the way back we see the landscape from the opposite perspective.
