This tour starts in Obernzell (Bavaria) and runs in the beginning along the Danube cycle path. At the power station Jochenstein we cross the border into Austria. At km 15, we cross the Danube and shortly thereafter begins the first ascent towards Waldkirchen. About wavy 'Sauwaldterrain' you drive down to Natternbach, from where it goes slightly uphill to Entholz. Here you can see down into the Innviertel.
Through Kopfing you climb to the Baumwipfelpfad and at Kimleinsdorf begins the third ascent. From the culmination of Faschingsstöckl again typical 'Sauwaldstrecke' is announced: varied.
The last climb begins in Wiesham and goes to Schardenberg. For this last effort you are rewarded with an 6 km descent towards the Danube valley where the route ends just before Passau.
The route is substantially the same as the annual Sauwaldmarathon.
