The Schinderhannes cycle path in the Hunsrück is 38 km long and runs along the route of the former Hunsrück railway from Simmern via Kastellaun to Emmelshausen. The trail is named after the German robber Johannes Bückler, also known as Schinderhannes, whose raids occurred mainly in Hunsrück.
It starts in Simmern and follows the runs of Simmerbach and Külzbach. The 50th degree of latitude is crossed between Keidelheim and Külz. Via Neuerkirch, Alterkülz and Hasselbach to Kastellaun and Hollnich. Finally via Ebschied, the Dudenrother Schanze, Lingerhahn, Pfalzfeld and Leiningen to the railway station in Emmelshausen.
